*Says His Men Shot Down Missing Air Force Plane

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau is proving to be invincible as he shocked the rest of Nigeria with claim that he remained alive in a new video obtained by APC on Thursday.

Shekau said the Nigerian military lied with reports on his death stating that members of his group are currently implementing strict Islamic law in captured towns of the north-east.
"Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath," Shekau said, adding that his group was "running our… Islamic caliphate" and administering strict sharia punishments.

Nigeria's military said last week that Shekau was dead and that a man who had been posing as the group's leader in the videos had been killed after fighting with troops in the far northeast.

Security analysts and the United States questioned the credibility of the military's claim.

The new 36-minute video showed Shekau, in combat fatigues and black rubber boots, standing on the back of a pick-up truck and firing an anti-aircraft gun into the air.

Standing in front of three camouflaged vans and flanked by four heavily armed, masked fighters, he then speaks for 16 minutes in Arabic and the Hausa language widely spoken in northern Nigeria.

There was no indication of where or when the video was shot.

The heavily bearded Shekau, who appeared to be the same as those in previous clips, said the military's claim that he was dead was propaganda.

"Nothing will kill me until my days are over… I'm still alive. Some people asked you if Shekau has two souls. No, I have one soul, by Allah," he said, apparently reading from a script.

"It is propaganda that is prevalent. I have one soul. I'm an Islamic student.

"I'm the Islamic student whose seminary you burnt… I'm not dead," he added, apparently referring to the destruction of the group's mosque in the Borno state capital, Maiduguri, in 2009.

There have been two previous claims by Nigeria's security forces that Shekau was dead — once in 2009 during unrest in Maiduguri — and again in 2013.

Following each previous claim Boko Haram has issued denials in video messages.

Elsewhere in the new video, the militant leader said the group had implemented strict Islamic law in the towns that it had captured in recent weeks.

"We are running our caliphate, our Islamic caliphate. We follow the Koran… We now practise the injunctions of the Koran in the land of Allah," he said.

The group also claimed to have shot down a Nigerian air force jet that went missing nearly three weeks ago.

An air force spokesman said the jet was missing.

"For any group to claim they shot it down is mere propaganda and rubbish," Air Commodore Dele Alonge told AFP.

59-yr-old Lagos Politician Vying For 'House Of Reps' Vandalises Pipeline To Raise Campaign Funds [PHOTO]

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Task Force on Anti-Pipeline Vandalism have arrested a self-confessed politician, Wahab Junaid, for vandalising a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipeline in the Obafemi/ Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State

The officer-in-charge of the task force, ACP Friday Ibadin, said Junaid, aka Doctor, was one of the unit's most wanted pipeline vandals. He explained that Doctor was arrested at Ifote village in the local council.

According to PUNCH, the Doctor had allegedly been arrested and arraigned three times, but was discharged and acquitted.

However, the 59-year-old politician said he went back to vandalism in order to raise money to contest a political post in 2015.

He said, "After I regained my freedom in 2012, I stopped anything that has to do with pipeline vandalism.

"I am an active member of a political party in this state (Lagos). So, when the slot for the House of Representatives was zoned to my area, my people nominated me to represent them. Since I know that I had a good chance of winning the election, I accepted. I was told to go and look for money to sponsor my campaigns.

"In the course of looking for funds, a friend of mine, Oloje, who is also a vandal, informed me that the area was calm, and that I could come and lift some fuel and get money for my political ambition.

"I was waiting with my tankers to lift the product when policemen arrested me. My enemies, who are bitter that I was anointed for the political position, betrayed me. Please forgive me and give me another chance. I am sorry and I promise that as soon as I am elected, I will assist the police in the war against pipeline vandalism."

Juniad said a full tanker could be bought for N1.5m from vandals and sold for N3m.

Junaid, who claimed to be veterinary doctor, said he was first arrested and arraigned in court in 2008.

"I was discharged and acquitted in 2010. I was also arrested at Epe in 2010 and after several months, I regained my freedom again. The third time was in 2012, when policemen from FESTAC division arrested and arraigned me in court. I was able to secure my freedom yet again."

The task force boss, Ibadin, explained that after his latest acquittal, the unit got a tip-off that Junaid had returned to bursting pipelines and had successfully moved several truck of petrol from pipelines in Lagos and Ogun states.

Ibadin said, "On September 15, 2014, detectives acted on an intelligence report that Junaid was back and currently operating with his boys at Ogere. Detectives, led by Ogere Sector Commander, ASP Shakwallo Philemon, stormed the area, arrested him and also recovered three big valves already mounted on NNPC right of way. This is the fourth time Junaid will be arrested by the police.

"We are still on the trail of his accomplices who managed to escape. We will again take him to court and we hope that he will get what he deserves this time around."

In another development, the task force also busted an illegal local refinery at Osara, near Lokoja in Kogi state. The owners were said to have fled as soon as they sighted the policemen.

Ibadin said the taskforce was still combing the village for those who constructed the refinery.

"I was granted a plot of land by the Gongola State Government at Yola Government Reserved Area. I hired a foreman and began building my first house. With close personal supervision, the bungalow was completed on time and to my taste. I rented it out immediately.

The rent I collected in advance on the house was substantial enough for me to purchase a second plot. I built my second house and rented it out. I continued to plow back the rent into the building of new houses and within a few years, I had built eight houses in choice areas of Yola.

I also built a new house for my mother and rebuilt the old mud house I bought for her in Ganye when I was a 15-year-old student."

Chelsea Attonley, 30, who was born a boy and called Matthew, says she's tired of putting on make-up and wearing heels, and now accepts that she should always have stayed a man.

'I have always longed to be a woman, but no amount of surgery can give me an actual female body and I feel like I am living a lie. It is exhausting putting on make-up and wearing heels all the time. Even then I don't feel I look like a proper woman. I suffered from depression and anxiety as a result of the hormones too.

I have realized it would be easier to stop fighting the way I look naturally and accept that I was born a man physically. Now I have decided I want to live as Matthew, I am desperate to have my FF-cup boobs removed.

I can't afford to have them done privately, so I am hoping to have the op on the NHS. I can't work at the moment because I am too upset after what I have been through. I am considering having penis reconstruction too. I don't feel bad about the NHS paying for the surgery as I don't consider it a choice.I need to have these operations for the sake of my mental health. I am lucky enough to live in a country where there is free health care,' she said.

Chelsea had the sex reassignment surgery in 2007. She has already had testosterone injections to begin her transition to becoming a man again. She has also had testosterone injections to stimulate hair growth and has cut his hair.
