Tinubu is Lying, He is Still Very Sick - Lagos PDP Accuses

  I told you all that the former Lagos State governor, Ahmed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu arrived Lagos in a Private Jet from London last night  killing news that he had been seriously sick. Tinubu told news men at the airport on his arrival that he only went on a vacation to relieve stress from the Osun state Gubernatorial elections and to do research work concerning politics,
but has returned.

    However, the state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, alleges he is lying. They went on to urge Lagosians to pray for his quick recovery. It's Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, issued a statement saying that Lagosians are interested in knowing the true state of health of the former governor. It reads in part;

"whose medical bill is being paid with their taxes."

They also urged APC to be truthful about his health condition.

"We wish the former governor, Bola Tinubu, quick recovery as we are made to know from the grapevine that he is ill and in a hospital outside the country. We also feel that the family and the state government should have the obligation to let Lagosians know the actual state of his health.

"It will not be a bad thing if the former governor appears on television or speaks on phone for broadcast. Indeed Lagosians are humanitarian and would readily support him in prayers."

Church building collapses in Edo

A one-storey building which served as offices for pastors belonging to Christ Chosen Church of God collapsed in Edo state today. Rescue operation is currently ongoing at the site. Three people are said to have been rescued alive from the collapsed building while two bodies are still trapped under the rubble. More later

An American of Arabic descent has been arrested by South Korean military personnel after trying to swim to North Korea, Telegraph UK reports.

The unnamed man, who is said to be in his early 30's was apprehended by South Korean marine sentries just before midnight on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 as he tried to swim across River Han which acts as a border with North Korea at Gimpo.

"I was trying to go to North Korea in order to meet with supreme leader Kim Jong-un," the man told authorities.

The man's attempt was in defiance to a US directive warning its citizens against going to North Korea, which became firmer after three American citizens were arrested in recent months.

On Sunday, September 14, 2014 an American Matthew Miller was sentenced to jail for six years in North Korea for "hostile acts" against the regime.

A housewife, Uzoima Patrick has been charged along with her husband, Ezechima over the rape, by the husband of their 16 year old house keeper.

The couple was arraigned today before the Yaba Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos.

Ezechima, 42 and Uzoima, 37, who reside at 14 Iyajesha Street, Amikonle in Alagbado, a Lagos suburb, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, child defilement and rape.

The prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu, told the court that the accused committed the offences between June 1 and June 4 at their residence.

He alleged that the husband conspired with his wife to rape the teenage housekeeper.

"Patrick conspired with his wife to defile the 16-year-old girl. Uzoima had overpowered the girl for the husband to rape her.''

Uzoima threatened to stab the girl with a knife to force her to cooperate with her husband, the prosecutor said.

He said the offences contravened Sections 137, 258 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 258 stipulates life imprisonment for rape. The couple has denied the charge.

In her ruling, the Magistrate, Mrs Yewande Aje-Afunwa, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

Further hearing in the case was fixed for 22 September.

As soldiers stood in line, 3 year old Cooper Waldvogel ignored the strict military protocol, ran up to the troops and into his mother's arms, who was so happy to scoop him up. 17 South Africans are Still Missing from Collapsed Synagogue Church Building!

     The South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Mnguni, has disclosed to AFP that the number of South Africans that died in the building collapse at the Synangogue church has increased to 84 and that 265 South Africans survived the incident, while 17 are unaccounted for. In his own words;

    "The number has risen from 67 to 84, with more bodies discovered on Thursday, September 18th. The number of South Africans who were in the church might be higher, as we believe that some people organized the trip themselves without using travel agents."

"There are 265 South African survivors. Initially, there were 96 injured South Africans, but now there are only 29 still in hospital, including a three-year-old," Mr. Mnguni said.

Navy Removes Destroyer's Top Three Commanding Officers Mid-Deployment -- RT

In an extremely rare move, the US Navy removed a ship's top three commanding officers from their posts while it is at sea. The Navy is conducting an investigation into the command climate aboard the USS James E. Williams (DDG-95).

Cmdr. Curtis B. Calloway was relieved as commanding officer of the guided-missile destroyer, along with Executive Officer (XO) Cmdr. Ed Handley and Command Master Chief Travis Biswell. The three posts make up the leadership aboard the Williams, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer that has been underway since May 30.
 No one is saying what the investigation is all about .... but it must be big if all of the senior commanders are removed during a deployment.

Scores Of Islamic State Militants Killed In Iraq While Loading A Chemical Warhead

14 IS Militants Killed As Their Rocket Explodes -- Business Standard

Baghdad, Sep 16 (IANS/EFE) At least 14 members of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist group were killed Tuesday near Baghdad when a rocket whose warhead they were filling with chlorine gas exploded.

Iraqi security officials said seven more IS militants were injured in the incident, which occurred near the town of al-Dhuluiya, about 90 km north of Baghdad.

Al-Dhuluiya was also where four members of the Iraqi security forces and Shiite militiamen suffered symptoms of asphyxiation after inhaling chlorine gas released by two improvised explosive devices. If these reports are true .... it raises the stakes dramatically in the war against the Islamic State.
