Politics can be a messy game for aspiring contestants.

Kate Henshaw is an aspiring legislator aspiring for a seat in the Federal House of Representatives in Nigeria. And to get ahead of the game, she has already cautioned prospective supporters that she has no money to share:

"There is no money. I can't match the people who have been in the system for 20 to 30 years. Im going with God and my heart. I'm not sharing money. If you continue sharing money, it will never stop. If you want true change, a true change, then vote for me and you'll see change. But if you want money, hey, go for money and stay where you are and don't complain."

On how long she intends to stay in power, Kate had this to say:

"I don't hope to be there forever. I just want to do, make noise, leave when the ovation is loudest. That's the best way. I don't want to be there for 10 years, 12 years, 16 years, that's the best way. I want to do other things. 4-8 years. That's the limit. You can hold me to my words."

Kate Henshaw seems very excited about her prospects ahead of next year's election. But politics is a bitter pill and making early promises about how long she intends to stay if elected can be quite tricky in the long term.

Nadia Buari celebrated her birthday this year all alone.

Last year when she celebrated her 31^st birthday, Jim Iyke took her to a worldwide tour. But this year, things are apparently not the same. Instead, Jim Iyke was in Las Vegas the same day Nadia was celebrating her birthday in a different city. Turns out also that Jim was there for another birthday celebration, and showered endless praises on the mystery lady:

Stella Damasus starts work on her new song

Acting has always been her foremost career…

Leading veteran Nollywood actors have ventured into politics.

But prior to the current trend sweeping across the movie industry, Richard Mofe Damijo was the first actor to go into politics after being appointed the Commissioner of Culture in Delta State, Nigeria, and seems very happy that some of his younger colleagues are following suit:

"It's humbling. I mean, I couldn't have asked for a better thing. It's just humbling and I am glad that I went into politics because today, I have started a trend. Every other actor or entertainment person is going into politics.

Somebody saw me at the airport the other day and sad na you cause all dis wahala o, all your colleagues want to be like you. But my prayer is that all of them will be bigger than what I have done."

Well, Richard Mofe Damijo has a good point about starting a trend. Public service is distinguished service if ONLY done for the right reasons. RMD is from Delta and wanted to help the people of his community sincerely. Whether or not his younger colleagues who are all racing for political office are doing so for the right reason remains to be seen.

History was made at the end of AFRIFF closing night last week.

Omotola Jalade, Genevieve Nnaji and Rita Dominic all came together under one roof and had a collective selfie. It's remarkable because Genevieve Nnaji and Omotola Jalade started their movie career together around the same time, with Rita Dominic following suit shortly after. But as they got famous and began charging higher fees for each movie they featured in, it became very difficult for producers to pair them together.

Overtime, Omotola carved her path and became very successful, Genevieve became a behemoth in her own right with Rita Dominic following closely on their heels, and the chance of getting to meet each other either on movie sets or informally became even more elusive.

The last time Genevieve and Omotola acted in a movie together was four years ago in the movie "Ije", so meeting each other again for the AFRIFF Film festival was a sight to behold, and you can see that they were all excited and couldn't resist the chance for a memorable Selfie.

Chad Suspected Of Funding Boko Haram -- Naij, com

Nigeria's neighbour, Chad, may be the major backer of Boko Haram with eyes on the oil deposits in the Chad Basin, Borno state. The Cable reports.

There are indications that there are hydrocarbon deposits in the Chad Basin covering 3,350 square metres, with federal government pumping close to N30bn in the last two years into feasibility studies of the oil potential there.

Countries such as Chad, Niger and Sudan with similar structural settings are already exploring or producing oil on their own soil.

Chad came into focus when the phantom ceasefire deal brokered in October by its President, Idriss Déby, alerted the security agencies to a possible involvement of the West African country in the insurgency.

I just received news that famous dancehall artiste — Orezi, was on Thursday, November 13, 2014 thrown out of Redeemer's University's premises by the school authority much to the disapproval of several students who protested the decision.

The 'Shoki' singer was invited by Redeemer's University Student's Association for the 2014 Fresher's event tagged 'The Debut Night.' 'The Debut Night.'

As he was set to perform his hit track, 'Shoki,' the University chaplain was reported to have threatened the DJ at the event, who is a student of the University not to play the song if he doesn't want to be expelled.

are still basking in the euphoria of happiness as they receive surprise packages from MTN to make this November a memorable one. Amakiri Chimeleadhu, a 500 level Electrical Engineering student of Rivers State University of Science and Technology and Dike Confidence- a 400 level Environmental Health student of College of Health Technology, Port Harcourt were proud owners of the latest iPhone 6. In Imo state, Thompson Onukah a Federal College of Education student, Nekede and Nwadike Orient, a student of Alvan Ikoku College of Education, were also surprised with the latest iPhone 6.

Describing his surprise package delivered to him, just for being an MTN subscriber, Amakiri stated:

'I feel extremely happy. Owning an iPhone 6 is something I never thought of. I say a very big thank you to MTN for surprising me with this phone.
