Good Education is Expensive... Nigerian's Don't Like Spending Money to Get Educated - Bishop Oyedepo

      Bishop Oyedepo the founder and General overseer of  one of Africa's largest churches, "Winners Chapel" and owner of 2 private universities in the country, has come out to say that education isn't cheap. And nothing good is free... He  addressed this issue whilst speaking with Newsmen on Friday September 19th in Ota, Ogun State. In his own words;

"I'm sure we all agree that education is expensive. Education carries cost; nothing of value is free. Our mission for years long, before we started any university or secondary school, was a bursary awarding church and we have not stopped doing that till tomorrow."

"Our problem most of the time is priority; an average Nigerian can spend N1m on burial but to spend N200,000 on education (is a problem), because of wrong priority.

"On a yearly basis, we have N1.5trn that Nigerians spend to overseas universities, so people thrive on it. Nigerians spend N463bn a month on recharge cards, how much are they paying forschools fees? So it's all a matter of priority. This is the largest market fortelephone in the world. Now, to pay N500,000, some people have only one son, they have huge business and houses all over the places, they will never pay it."

He picked up his cane and went out through the side door as noiselessly as possible. He began to tiptoe towards the boys who were busy picking the oranges and plucking the ones their hands could reach. "Now, all of you come over here to me," Mr. Jacob said. The boys froze and looked around but they could not see him in the darkness. They were nonetheless frightened. "You all go on your knees," Mr hicobs voice came again, then his figure came as he left the shadow of the cathedral. Afraid, the boys fell on their knees. They were too young to know that he had not seen their faces in the darkness and would not recognize them if they ran off "Do you know you have sinned? That you disobeyed me by going to the orange tree? I told you the fruits were the forbidden fruits yet you went there. And since it did not belong to you, you stole from it," Mr. Jacobs said. ....
