UK Arrests 9 In Operation Against Islamist Terrorism


Nine men have been held by the British police for alleged Islamist-related terrorism, according to News 24.

According to police sources, the men are suspected of belonging and supporting to groups which have been outlawed for terrorist affiliations, although Scotland yard the arrests were not connected to any immediate terror threat.

Police confirmed that the men, whose ages ranged from 22 to 51, where all being held in central London just as nineteen properties in London and Stoke-on-Trent were being searched.

Britain increased its international threat level to "severe", the second-highest threat level in August, which means the threat of an attack is highly likely. Prime Minster, David Cameron also said, the Islamic State group was the biggest security threat the UK has ever faced.
