60-year-old Edmond Alexandre has been indicted for interfering with flight crew members on Wednesday, August, 2014 over someone reclining her sit in front of him.

A Haitian man was reported to have caused chaos on an American Airlines flight to Paris from Miami, and as a result compelling the flight to stop at Boston.

The Haitian national who lives in Paris, was indicted Thursday, October 16, 2014 for inciting pandemonium in the plane, by US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz.

The federal prosecutors alleged that Alexandre became enraged, two hours into the journey, as a woman in front of him reclined her seat in front of him,

According to an August Globe article, a member of the flight crew attempted to cautioned him, but Alexandre became even more upset, and began to shout as he walked towards the crewman and grabbed him by the arm. This prompted the captain of the flight to divert the plane to Boston's Logan International Airport, where Alexandre was eventually arrested.

'The interference with a flight crew charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and three years of supervised release, although sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties', federal prosecutors said.
