Babangida who usually pays Sallah homage to his State Governor anually with General Abdulsalami was absent  but Abdulsalami was present. Because he was absent he called in and Journalists spoke to him through Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu's phone. He assured journalists that he was well and said;

"I miss all of you, I wish you all Barka de Sallah. I am better now and I will be back in few days' time''.
