The Police in Akwa Ibom police command have apprehended one Miss Patience Aaron of Afaha Abia village, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, for purportedly bury her day-old baby alive.

The Commissioner of Police, Gabriel Achong, while briefing newsmen in Uyo, said the baby was recovered alive after about seven hours of being buried in a shallow grave..

According to a News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) report, the commissioner disclosed that the mother of the baby had been critically sick since she was arrested and it was learnt she was undergoing treatment ever since then.

Further speaking, the commissioner said they have recovered over six children who had been previously stolen in the state.

Achong added that the command had recovered items and N8.9 million cash from some thugs who stalked and shot the driver of the manager of a telecommunication company in Ikot Ekpene while they were heading to the bank.

In addition, it was learnt that they recovered about four vehicles and N30,000 fake currency notes from hoodlums.

Also, a driver with Union Bank Plc, Lagos , Andre Moses, was also traced and tracked having previously with his a Hyundai Jeep with Reg. No. AKD 381 CY to Oron which belonging to his manager.

According to Achong, the suspect claimed to have sold the vehicle to Ghana national in Port Harcourt.
