A man identified as Michael Akpore of Urhiephron, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta state has last week turned himself in to the police after killing his wife.

He claimed that his late 32-year old wife, Julie Akpore confessed that she was having extra marital affairs behind his back. It was this singular confession that led him into murdering her.

Akpore on the fateful day had lured unsuspecting Julie into a bush along Iwhrekan/Ekakpamren Road where he allegedly butchered her.

However, days after the incident, he went straight to the police and reported himself and was immediately arrested by the Security operatives at the Delta State Police command.

Confirming the incident, the state police command public relations officer, Mrs Celestina Kalu stated that the suspect reported himself to the Jeremi Police Division last Thursday, a couple of days after luring his wife to the bush along Iwhrekan/Ekakpamren Road, where he allegedly butchered her.

The police officials aided by Mr Akpore  went into the bush in search of the body which they eventually recovered and deposited for an autopsy at the Jeremi Hospital Mortuary.

Mr. Jacob and the forbidden fruits was always an exciting topic and they would laugh. "Only God know where the white master is today," Sule would say with nostalgia. "Perhaps long dead and buried," Tanko would say. "But he was a terror," Bawa reminded. He had succeeded. his father as the tobacco merchant in ,Jogongan even though he was once a banker. Garba would laugh. "Come to think of it, he was a good man. The lesson of the forbidden fruits was that of obedience.
